Sustainability is turning into an expected standard within the fashion world, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s wonderful to see makers turn everyday objects into incredible pieces of art. And when those pieces are wearable…what can be better?
MALIN HENNINGSSON is a Swedish jewelry brand, founded by jeweler and artist Malin Henningsson.
The world of MALIN HENNINGSSON is built by using unconventional materials and shapes. It is bold and inventive yet poetic and sophisticated with great attention to detail and texture. All products are handcrafted by Malin in her Stockholm studio or in collaboration with local craftsmen and she has great appreciation for the creative process and the time put into production. The objects are made to be loved as pieces of art and to last longer than transient trends.
There is an architectural element to these pieces that resonates with me, as well as, the simplicity of them. I am IN LOVE with every single piece in their collection!

The inspiration for Paula Mendoza’s spring 2015 collection was the Royal Palace of Aranjuez… and regal it absolutely is.

Canadian beauty and the face of Dolce & Gabbana, Kate King, modeled elegantly draped silhouettes inspired by Indian sari’s for her latest shoot featured in How to Spend It Magazine from the Financial Times. Andrew Yee of Atelier Management captured looks styled by Damian Foxe with pieces from the likes of Chloe, Givenchy and Gucci.
I am obsessing over every one of these looks, especially all the breathtaking jewelry!

The Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent in Paris has unveiled Berber Women of Morocco, an exhibition dedicated to Moroccan Islamic art and civilization, specifically Berber women of Amazigh civilization. The exhibition is divided into three segments: Portraits of the Berber Women of Morocco, Skills and Craftsmanship, and Traditional Clothing and Adornment. Throughout the exhibit, beautiful traditions and symbols are showcased that have kept their heritage alive over the years, objects like clothing, jewelry, tapestries and woven baskets.

I have been meaning to post about these wrapped necklaces I made for some time. The beautiful sunny today was reminder enough… so here they are! The perfect accessory for summer, though I must say I have been wearing them all winter.
The pink and orange portions glow in the dark!
A ring I made a couple of months ago… never got to posting it until now!
P.S. I adore this neon green color on my nails!
MARIPOSSA, based in Melbourne, Australia has very quickly become one of my favorite labels, and seems like I am not alone; both Anja Rubik and Rihanna would have to agree. As the recipient of the Young Designer Award for accessories during Berlin Fashion week F/W 2011, it’s not hard to imagine why it’s fast gaining a strong fan base and recognition in the design world.
The new collection, EL HOMENAJE– THE HOMAGE with Vogue cover model Alice Burdeu as the face of the campaign, is inspired by Lauren Besser’s (the designer) encounter with an earthquake in her teenage years. Through the use of raw unpolished sterling silver and bronze, as well as crushed crystals, El Homenaje tells a story of the destructive force of nature.
What strikes me about the collection alongside the beautiful images, is how aptly named all the pieces are. Here are a few of my favorites from the collection:
The workmanship that goes into making the metal bracelets look like yarn is what makes me appreciate MARIPOSSA. I look forward to seeing more of them this year, and hopefully collecting a few of these beauties for myself.
The collection has been on display at Galeries Lafayette in Berlin. Additionally, MARIPOSSA is now stocked in exclusive boutiques throughout Australia, select international boutiques as well as online.

What a better way to start the new year than…a new want list? Yes, sounds delightful!
The alluring look of Pamela Love’s pieces is hard to ignore, adding a mystical feeling to the enchantment surrounding her jewelry. Known for her fierce talon bangles and claw rings, her Fall/ Winter 2011- 12 collection does her rocker chic look justice. Love’s new collection features jagged, luminous crystals – a new material for her. Charlotte Free models the jewelry in the lookbook. The natural feel of her new collection gives me a sense of freedom and the raw look adds edginess. I can just picture how gorgeous it’ll look anchoring a chiffon dress or top, both of which provide an otherworldly feel. Definitely want-list worthy.

These exquisite creations are by Roberto Coin. I would love to have one of each!
